The handlers/groomers/owners in these videos demonstrate how they would use the Pure Paws product line with their dogs. You may even notice sometimes that different handlers use different techniques when bathing & grooming. There are many ways to combine the products to acheive the look that is right for your dog. If you want more information on the individual products and what they can do for your dog please look at the Product Information page or email us at info@purepaws.net

Wet the coat. Then apply the Ultra Brightening Shampoo diluted 1 part shampoo to 8 parts water. Pour the mixture over the dog evenly and begin working into the coat. Then rinse the shampoo.

To get that extra white on the coats we recommend doing an extra bath using the No Rinse Shampoo as a second bath to help bring the white out on the coats. The optical brightners leave them amazingly white!

The final bath should be with the Ultra Reconstructing Shampoo diluted 1 part shampoo to 8 parts water. This shampoo will hydrate the coat and maintain the moisture at an optimal level to avoid breakage.

There are several different ways to condition the maltese coat as well as different conditioners to use based on the quantity of the coat.
If the coat is thin we would recommend to condition the coat with the Ultra Moisturizing Conditioner. Dilute the Moisturizing Condition 1 part conditioner to 8 parts water. Place the mixture into a liquid applicator. Put the dog in the tub and pour the conditioner over the coat.Distribute the conditioner through out the coat assuring that the mixture is evenly distributed through the coat. Let the mixture sit 2-3 minutes then rinse.
If your dog’s coat is very thick condition using the following method: In a tub of water dilute the Ultra Silk Cream (see video- 1 to 2 tables spoons of Silk Conditioner to the tub of water) Make sure when the Silk Cream is diluted that the mixture does not contain chunks of conditioner. Put the dog in the tub and pour the conditioner over the coat. The idea is to allow the conditioner to penétrate the coat. Let the dog sit for 2-3 minutes then rinse the coat

While the coat is still damp use the Ultra Volumizing Spray Gel sprayed lightly on the top knot area. Once dry this will give you texture to the base so that you can build the top knot.

Top Knot
We recommend the Intense Hair Spray when setting the top knot in place. This will hold the base nicely with out getting tacky.

Always towel dry first to absorb as much water as possible. When drying the coat always brush in a downward motion so as not to tangle the coat. Lightly spray the FinishingShow Spray while line drying the coat.

Depending on the final texture of the coat when dry you can use the Ultra Shine Conditioning Spray for more conditioning when ironing or the Ultra Finishing Show Spray if the coat is how you want it.

Reconstructing Shampoo
Dilute the Reconstructing Shampoo 1 part shampo to 8 parts water. Wet the coat, apply shampoo and lather. Rinse with warm water and bathe a second time. This will help remove excess oils and debris from the coat

Without Oil - Dilute the Moisturizing Conditioner 1 part conditioner to 8 parts water. Distribute through out the coat evenly. Do not apply to the head (top knot) on show days. Let the conditioner sit in the coat for 3 minutes, run a little bit of warm water through the coat so that the conditioner penetrates all the way to the base of the coat. Run your fingers gently through the coat to assure that the conditioner has penetrated. Rinse with cool water.

With Oil - Mix 2 Tbs Moisturizing Conditioner; 2 Tbs Silk Cream; 1 Tsp Light Oil; 1 gallon water. Blend the mixture in a tub of warm water. Place the dog in the tub and float the coat (continually run the mixture through the coat using a cup to pur the mixture over the coat - see video).

Finish by drying the coat.

Coat and Color
The coat is single, that is, without undercoat. It hangs long, flat, and silky over the sides of the body almost, if not quite, to the ground. The long head-hair may be tied up in a topknot or it may be left hanging. Any suggestion of kinkiness, curliness, or woolly texture is objectionable. Color, pure white. Light tan or lemon on the ears is permissible, but not desirable.
